'Allo 'Allo
Tryst to Stage Comedy Classic at Bowhouse
15/10/2004
Allo Allo! Meet randy René Artois, the most wanted man in Occupied
France. And don't tell the Germans, but you'll find him, Edith, Yvette,
Michelle, Mimi, Helga, Herr Flick, Leclerc, Gruber and the rest of the
cast at Grangemouth's Bowhouse Community Centre in Tryst Theatre's production
of the BBC comedy classic.
Rene's wanted all right. Women want his body, the French Resistance wants
his brain…and the Nazis want his sausage!
In a small café in occupied France, Rene, the harassed proprietor,
is fighting his own war. With the German Army in residence at the bar,
René is risking his neck to aid the Resistance by hiding two British
airmen and a radio transmitter upstairs.
As if this wasn't enough, René has also got involved in hiding
a priceless painting, the Madonna with the Big Boobies, in a garlic sausage,
which is being sniffed out by the Gestapo. But René's real problem
is his wife, Edith, and what she will do to him when she finds out about
the affairs he is having with his two sexy waitresses, Yvette and Mimi!
Tryst President Frank Murray, who plays one of the airmen, said: "Listen
very carefully. I will say this only once. Allo Allo is a hilarious comedy
with all the characters from the much-loved TV show.
"We're transforming Bowhouse into Café Rene for the three
nights. People can book tables and enjoy a glass of wine with the show,
which will add to the fun atmosphere."
The show runs in Bowhouse from November 7-9.
